RAAF Base Wagga's recruits support Sunflower House

President Mark had the privilege and honour of visiting the RAAF Base Wagga to receive a donation from the Recruit Course 02/21. Everyone at Sunflower House was thrilled to have been thought of by the recruits as their training came to an end in Wagga. Thank you to everyone involved for your thoughtfulness and generosity.

“RAAF Base Wagga’s current recruits from 1 Recruit Training Unit were proud to present Mr Mark Horton, President of Sunflower House Charity, with a donation to assist ongoing psychosocial support development.

Pictured here at the RAAF Wagga Aircraft Park, is Mr Mark Horton (centre) with recruits from the soon to graduate 02/21 course. Aircraftwoman Kaitlyn Adams (to Mark’s immediate left) coordinated and collated donations from 55 fellow recruits and chose the Sunflower House as the local charity that would benefit from a donation to assist psychosocial support development.

As part of initial recruit training, Air Force Recruits are encouraged to engage with and give back to their local community, as are all Defence members.

Recruit Course 02/21 has undergone eleven weeks of rigorous Initial Military Training including two weeks of mandated quarantine; and are on track to graduate in two weeks.”
