Confidence & Social Connections
Rebuilding Confidence and Connecting with Others
The Confidence & Social Connections program supports participants to gradually rebuild confidence in social situations and reconnect with others in a safe and welcoming environment.
Periods of mental health difficulty can sometimes lead to isolation or a loss of confidence when interacting with others. This program provides opportunities to build confidence, develop social skills, and strengthen connections with the community.
Participants are encouraged to take part in conversations, shared activities and group experiences that help restore a sense of belonging.
What the Program Offers
Participants are supported to:
Build confidence in social situations
Develop communication and conversation skills
Connect with others in a supportive group setting
Participate in shared activities and discussions
Strengthen friendships and support networks
The program is relaxed and inclusive, allowing everyone to participate at their own pace and comfort level.
The Value of Social Connection
Positive social connections play an important role in recovery and wellbeing.
Spending time with others who understand the challenges of mental health can help reduce feelings of isolation and build a stronger sense of community.
Participants often discover that shared experiences can create meaningful friendships and support networks.
A Safe and Supportive Environment
Sessions are guided by Sunflower House staff and peer support workers, many of whom have lived experience of mental health recovery.
Participants are welcome to join in conversations or simply listen and observe until they feel comfortable taking part.
Reconnecting with Community
The goal of the program is to help participants feel more confident engaging with others both within Sunflower House and in the wider community.
By building confidence and strengthening connections, participants can take positive steps toward greater independence, wellbeing and social inclusion.
